Q: Who can take your classes? What level(s) am I eligible for?
A: Anyone age 16 or older is welcome in our Aerial Foundations, Circus Boot Camp, Ballet Barre, Modern Dance, and Flexibility classes, no matter your fitness level or experience. Students interested in our Level I or II classes must have achieved some prerequisites prior to enrolling. Students in our Aerial Foundations class can work with an instructor to determine if they are ready to advance. Students coming to us from other studios can schedule a Private Lesson to have their skill level evaluated during any of our Open Studio sessions, or at another mutually convenient time. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to schedule an assessment with us.
Q: What should I wear and/or bring with me to class?
A: For any of our classes that include aerial dance instruction, we require fitted clothing that covers the waist, back of the knees, and armpits to protect your skin from friction burns. We also require students to remove all hand and wrist jewelry and any large earrings or necklaces prior to participating in aerial dance classes. Please avoid clothing with zippers, buttons, or any other hard items that could damage the aerial equipment. We ask that students please refrain from using body sprays, perfumes, or lotions prior to class. We encourage you to bring bottled water with you to every class. The Founders Studio and the foam flooring area of the North Studio are all shoes-off areas; please remove your shoes and place them in the cubby system provided prior to entering.
Q: Are there dressing rooms available at Arcadia?
A: Please note, for liability reasons, Arcadia has a closed-circuit camera security system that is recording activities in the common areas of the studios at all times; please utilize our private, curtained changing rooms or the restroom if you desire privacy for dressing before and after class.
Q: Is there parking, transit, or bicycle racks near Arcadia?
A: There is free street parking on the streets surrounding Arcadia and King County Metro Routes 28, 40 and the D Line all stop within blocks of us. There are also bicycle racks in front of Lucky Envelope Brewing at the end of our block. Unfortunately we do not have a secure indoor space to store bicycles.
