We are part of King Co. Employee Giving Program, WA Combined Fund Drive, and Gates Foundation / Microsoft employee giving programs through the Benevity portal.
The Cabiri is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. The majority of our efforts are volunteer-based projects that serve to present affordable cultural education to the general public. Our shows make every effort to take the audience into the magical world of myth in a way the viewer has never experienced.
In 2020, we will be fundraising for some specific improvements needed at our home studio Arcadia and to support studio revenue losses due to the coronavirus pandemic. As of mid-March 2020, we have incurred nearly $5,000 in losses due to cancelled events and classes at the studio and our staff will incur an additional loss of about $2,000 in income. We are actively pursuing all possible avenues of support from City, County, State, and private sources but individual support is critical at this time too. We hope you will consider a recurring donation for the next few months to help us get through this crisis.
Here are the tangible items we hope to procure in 2020:
- Security system – Cost: $2,000 including a generous discount on installation
- Two additional safety cushions for our aerial dance classes – Cost: $1,800 including shipping
- Flooring for our new Mezzanine studio – 1,500 square feet to be installed by volunteers – Cost: $2,500 ($1,800 received; $700 remaining to be raised)
- Aerial yoga hammocks and rigging hardware for our aerial yoga classes – Cost: $1,800
